is my rolex genuine

Hi guys i am a novice when it comes to watches and hoped someone could give me advice on the following.

I am in the process of purchasing a used rolex submariner A1 condition. I am informed the watch is a rare model and a special order in that it is stainless steel with a blue face and bezel, apparently and i have checked on the net you can only get the blue face and bezel in stainless/gold and white gold. The watch looks authentic and has all the box, certficates etc and movement appears genuine i have taken the bracelet off and it is stamped accordingly with the serial number. One problem is that where the watch should say "swiss-made" on the face it actually says "swiss-T<25" anyone have any thoughts on this?

I currently live in dubai and the watch is being sold by a what i am told is a reputable yet unauthorised watch dealer who offers a 1 year gurantee due to it being what he says is a rare example he is also charging around 500pounds over the list price for a snew teel black sub.

Is the watch being supplied with the original Rolex box and Rolex certificate. When you take off the strap, there should be the serial number on one side and a 4 or 5 digit number on the other, that is the model number. Do you know what the number is?

T<25 refers to the type of luminous used in the dial. In older Rolex models they used tritium as a luminous agent hence the 'T' meaning tritium.

It is important that you are not buying a watch that is a mix and match of other watches. If you can find out the 4 or 5 digit number that will help me assist you.

Do you know what age this watch is? it should state it on the certificate. Also what are the first 4 digits of the serial number, that will also enable you to age the watch.

If in any doubt contact Rolex with the serial number and model number and ask them to confirm what watch it should be, if they say it is not a blue bezel/blue face steel submariner then dont touch it!

If you are not 100% sure then don't buy it, 99% of fakes have unsigned movements, and the ones that have signed movements the serial numbers are obviously crudely engraved, search google for rolex movements and then compare to what your one looks like, especially the same model, check the crispness and font of the serial number and ROLEX on the movement
