I bought a watch at a local car boot for three quid, as I liked the look of it and it is branded 'Lancia' - a car manufacturer I have always been an enthusiast of.
Thing is, I can find out nothing about it - it's mechanical, is small in size (slightly smaller than my 'boys' Rolex) and has a steel case. The face is cream with gold numbers, in very bold and stylish form that makes me think fifties, or earlier. It has a seperate, small second hand in the lower half, topped with the word 'incabloc' which I believe is an anti-shock system.
On the back it reads 'stainless steel back', 'antimagnetic', 'shockproof', 'waterproof' and 'swiss made', and it has a number stamped on - 42 149.
Inside the movement looks very clean and pretty, and is inscribed 'Swiss' and '15 jewels'.
It keeps time beautifully, and is a very pretty little watch.
Can anyone shed any light on who might have made it, and when? And is 'Lancia' referring to the motor manufacturer?
Any info would be welcomed!
Thanks Steve
