Hello,

My wife had her heart set on the classic Cartier Tank Francaise, however, we can't afford this yet and I want to get her something a bit cheaper (about £1,000 max) that would do until we can afford the Cartier.  I have been looking at the followign two watches:

Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Quartz
Longines DolceVita ladies' stainless steel diamond-set watch

Is there any merit in choosing the Omega over the Longines (e.g. brand calibre, quality, etc) or can anyone suggest any alternatives to these two watches?

NB.  The watch must be silver, and ideally, with a brushed finish.
