Advice Needed Please 4 a (very) New Collector

Hello All - can anyone out there help me in identifying a watch which ive just bought for my fledgling vintage collection ?
It carries the name "Emerson" on the dial ,is sqare yellow 14k gold marked on the back and inside of the case - the movement is signed "Provis Watch co",swiss made and 17jewel together with the letters FXE.
The seller has told me that the wristwatch is from the 1930s
Alas I cant post any pics (need a new camera!) and I cant find any info on Emerson or Provis - can anybody help?
