Good afternoon,

I am new to the board so pls be gentle with me!

I have been made aware of a watch that my brother has been given that he wishes to have valued (not necessaily with a view to sell) and I know absolutely nothing about them, however am a tad more computer litereate so agreed to see if I could find someone or somewhere to get in valued.

I have a few details;

SOLID GOLD ROYAL OAK ANNUAL CALENDAR

Audemars Piguet Annual Calendar (model no:25920)

TECHNICAL DETAILS OF BASIC MOVEMENT

• Overall height, including oscillating weight: 4.85 mm

• Casing ring diameter: 26.00 mm (111/2 ligne)

• Vibrations/hour: 28’800 (4Hz)

• Jewelling: 35 rubies

• Continuous running of movement when fully wound: 38 hours

• Automatic winding in both directions

• Oscillating weight segment in 21 carat gold

• Anti-shock system on the balance «KIF Elastor»

• Adjustable stud support, fine adjustment system on

the regulator

Basic movement cal. 2224/2814

It is solid gold (boxed etc) and has some exciting provedence attached.

I also have some pics avaliable?!

Please can someone advise if theya re in a postion to help me obtain a good market value for this timepiece?

The bad news is that with any of the all gold models (18K) for any of the luxury watches (i.e. Breitling, Rolex, IWC, Omega,) you will lose money when the time comes to re-sell, as watch houses tend to overinflate the prices of these models.  No idea why, but thats what they do.  Take the Cartier Roadster all gold model!  What a rip-off! 

The good news is that AP watches are considered more of a high end brand (i.e. patek, JLC, VC) than a luxury.  In fact I'm sure your brother will do quite well as to hang on to the watch as an investment!
