My wife bought me a Rolex for my birthday (Oyster perpetual). She paid extra to get a specific bracelet (it is steel and gold and the bracelet pattern goes all the way round the watch with no obvious clasp.....just a small Rolex crown that opens the bracelet). Unfortunately, the bracelet was too small and I had to get it lengthened. The dealer in Dubai charged me USD 120 for each LINK (I needed 4).

My questions are...

1...Is it normal to pay for additional links

2...What are they made of ? (the price seems excessive)

I had no option but to pay because there is only one dealer in Dubai. The watch is lovely but the cost seems excessive.

I would be grateful if anyone could tell me if this charge is standard and what type of bracelet was put on the watch.

Thanks in advance

I spoke to Rolex direct and was told that the bracelet is the Jubilee bracelet with a concealed clasp (apparently it is a new addition). They advised that the links are 18ct gold and stainless steel and retail at 90 pounds each so I did not get ripped off.....actually got a reasonable deal.

Just wish the dealer had informed my wife of this BEFORE she bought the watch.

From one happy Rolex owner (after wanting one for 20 years)
