Couple of newby questions
«

firstly I've been left a watch by my Dad, don't think it has any real value other than sentimental, but does anyone know more about it. I know he kept it as his special watch, so it meant something to him. It is a Fortis chronographe incabloc, or that is what it says on the face. Metal strap and case. Squareish Face, A date box at the bottom, a small dial at three and nine o clock , seconds on the left hand dial, stop watch on the right hand.
Secondly and this is my real dilemma. He left me £1000 and I was thinking about buying a watch with this. I've been looking at omega seamaster which I quite like the look of. Based on resale value can anyone recommend something better to look at. Want to treat it more as an investment and something I can pass on rather than a daily wearer.
Cheers
Phil

Fortis are reasonable watches at the price
re your £1000 , a Seamaster would indeed be a good choice and as long as you buy an auto it will hold it's value well
You could also consider something like a Breitling colt too
avoid Tag Heuer ( and most quartz watches ) if you have any worries about future value
