Heuer/Elgin

I've been colecting watches for years now, but I'm still trying to find info on my very first watch. It's an elgin divers watch from 1982, swiss quartz made, that looks idenical to a Heuer Professional of the same vintage, same ceramic bezel,   same screwdown crown,  same patent(brevet) number, same movement just signed Egin, where Heuer signs their's, was Elgin owned by the same company as Heuer, was Heuer contracted to make these..........any ideas ..............M
