It's a ladies datejust, model 6917. My friend got it as a gift from her ex-boyfriend. It seems to have the correct movement, and it's definitely an automatic. Diamonds on the front, two tone band. A few weird things.
When I screw the winder back on, it still winds as it locks down.
Also, when I take the band off, there is neither a model number at 12, nor a serial number at 6.
Is the 6917 supposed to have that etched like my men's president day-date?

I think that they all have the model/serial numbers between the lugs

hi freakdog, yes i can confirm that all rolex's should have the model/serial numbers engraved between the lugs. as for the watch winding as you screw the crown down onto the case, it could be that the winding stem has been cut slightly short. sorry for being a bit technical.
