Omega Moonwatch

I've just heard of a limited edition Omega moonwatch which has a white face with the 1969 moonlanding date on the dial in red. Does anyone have any information on this watch such as availability, price etc. And especially are these good reliable watches?
Thanks

I don't know anything about a new model, but having owned one (and only one, so help me God) Omega chronograph, I would NOT-repeat NOT- recommend these watches to anyone! I had a model 3510-50, reduced size chronograph, and the minute hand would jump ahead 1 - 3 minutes each time I started the stopwatch, and I had 11, count 'em, 11 pushers for the chrono function replaced in 2 years! I even sent the bloody thing back to Switzerland for a complete overhaul. The replaced the enitre movement, and the day I got it back, the minute hand did the same thing, and a pusher fell off within 3 weeks. I was NOT doing anything with the watch, just walking across a college campus! I will NEVER buy another Omega, even if they offered me a solid gold one for $1.00.
I hope I wasn't vague...

I think that makes your point and view clear. I suppose that all of us have good and bad tales of watches, but I have heard more bad than good about Omega and their functionality as a watch.
Thanks for your reply and I guess I'll look elsewhere now. I am interested in a Breitling, have you any opinion??

Well, Brietling, like a few other watch companies, seems to have sat down and rested on their laurals for a few years. In the early 50s, and into the early 70s, Breitling was THE pilot's chronograph. When the digital revolution took off, breitling didn't. However, it seems as though they are making a valiant effort to make both watches that people want. and watches that will inspire those that buy their first one, to buy another. I am currently lloking at another style of watch all together, and not a "sport" type, but if I was, I would be really looking hard at a new "Evolution." By the way, for a really reliable watch, but not exactly a work of art, take a look at Fortis. I've been wearing one for at least 8 years now, with no problems. I take it off at night, only. I ride my bicycle with it on, have shot a .50 cal machine gun while wearing the watch, more than once, and have NEVER had a lick of trouble from a thousand dollar watch.

Thanks for the advice. At almost 3k I think that the Evolution is a little bit out of my budget range. It is a gorgeous looking watch though.
I looked at Fortis and was quite impressed. I couldnt find any reputable UK dealers though - so if you know anywhere let me know please.

In reply to the 'dont buy an omega' thing above I just thought I'd mention my 3 year old speedmaster automatic is absolutely fine. Keeps time better than my tag 2000 automatic and only needs minimal winding to keep it going. It also still looks reasonably good after more or less continuous daily wear.
I know people sometimes have problems with things and that's a bad thing but I've been pleased with my omega. I think it's good value for what it is.
